These numbers make it more important than ever to begin teaching youth at an early age about the dangers of alcohol.

The Town Hall Meeting aims to increase community awareness on the issue of underage drinking, identify how underage drinking affects the entire community, and brainstorm possible solutions. The meeting will provide an opportunity for parents, teachers, officials, youth, and other community members to voice their concerns and suggest ideas for preventing young people from using alcohol.

This year's panel includes: Aaron McGowan, Minnehaha County State’s Attorney, Dr. Beth Lapka , Sanford Health Trauma Five; Sgt. Jerry Winter, Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Department and Shilpa Chandran, Mayor’s Youth Council.
