Prairie View Prevention Services,
Inc. is a leader in innovative prevention programs. It is setting new
standards for educating students, parents and communities about substance abuse
and prevention.
PVPS offers unique drug and
alcohol prevention services in communities across South Dakota.
Its work stretches from elementary schools, where youngsters enjoy a variety of
fun-filled activities offering a view of positive lifestyles; to middle schools
where students are offered the opportunity to explore healthy decision making
skills and community involvement; and on to high schools, where teens are able
to share their concerns and develop life skills to carry them into adulthood.
Trained, certified counselors
offer intervention services for students and families. They assess
substance abuse issues, a variety of educational and support groups to help
students overcome use and addiction, guide youngsters and their families to
further community resources and help children and families cope with the
stresses of returning to home and school after completing treatment.
PVPS spearheads a variety of
programs focused on developing safe, drug-free families, schools and
