What Will This Program Cost?
PVPS receives funding through a Federal Grant and through the City of Sioux Falls which covers the cost of most services for students in Sioux Falls Public and Private Schools for PPP, IPP and Breakthrough. Many of our clients live outside the Sioux Falls Metro area and for those students some services are covered and some may have to pay a nominal fee. Please call our office for further details.
We also work closely with the Juvenile Justice System in Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties for those who may be court ordered to complete a prevention or intervention program.
The Connections program is intended for those who will benefit from a higher level of service but are not really in need of in-patient treatment. Connections is an outpatient services program designed with individual, group and family sessions. Since this is not considered a prevention program, the individual is responsible for the cost. Our fees are based on the medicaid reimbursement rate so everyone has the same fee. We do accept medicaid, income eligible funding (state assistance), major credit cards, debit cards and some health insurance plans. Because insurance plans change and since we are working on adding more insurance providers, please check to see which plans are covered.
If your child was recommended to the Connections Program, you will receive a letter informing you of the costs. We do our best to verify coverages and costs you may be responsible for so there are no surprises.
Referrals to Connections are just that - a referral. You are free to pick any counseling service you want to follow the recommendations. PVPS has set it's rates to be fair to all clients. Those who may have had previous experience with a PVPS Counselor in the past may have a much more positive experience with our staff because we already know some of the issues they have dealt with.
